Psalms and Proverbs
Sitting one Shabbat we decided to read some Psalms and Proverbs aloud to each other, and this quickly became a running theme for our Shabbats. But it only occured to me recently to actually look at the words in Hebrew and break down their symbols, and as always I was not disappointed.
Lets start with the Book of Psalms or in Hebrew Tehilìm תהלים.
It begins with the symbol ת Tav, which symbolically means covenant or promise.
Then Hey ה which means behold or look.
Then Lamed ל which means control or the shepherd
Followed by a Yod י representing will, or works or deeds.
And finally chammek ם symbolising prop or support,
So put it all together and we can read The covenant, behold the shepherd will support,
or perhaps a better interpretation could be : The Covenant, behold the control of will and support.
Either way the idea of the word symbolically drawing a picture of both Yah's control over us, and all creation as the Shepherd of the World; or the idea that in being in covenant with Yahuah we can see how to control our own self will despite the chaos around us, it is striking similar to Psalm 23 and many other psalms as well.

Now lets look at the book of Proverbs; or in Hebrew Mishlei משלי
The word opens with Mem מ, which as we saw at the end of Psalms, means Water or Chaos.
Then we have a new symbol for today which is Shiynש, symbolically representing destruction or consuming,
Then Lamed ל, again representing control, or the Shepherd
and Finally yod י, representing will, deeds, or works.
Put it together you come up with Chaos destroys the Shepherds Works.
And this fits with Proverbs, there are endless proverbs about being patient and calm, not in chaos and thus remaining wise and in the Father's will.
Put the two words together; Psalms and Proverbs, Tehilìm and Mishlei
The Covenant, behold the Shepherd's Will and support. For chaos destroys the Shepherd's Works.
A reminder that if we do not hold onto the covenant, and use the fruits of the spirit as a result, such as meekness, patience, longsuffering, self control, then we end up in chaos and run riot in iniquity and destroy the covenant we had with him. Ending in disaster.
