Yah's Calendar?

This is a topic that has had much debate, and to be honest, it was one that until recently I had not thought too much on, having been focused on other issues more pressing to my families walk.

But recently Father has been pressing on me to think on this, and from prayer, thought and study he has presented me with an idea, a very simple one, but not the mainline calendar presented by the Jewish People and accepted by most of the Torah Observant community.

The idea however, seems right, so I want to share it with you all in the hope that either;

it is right and we can walk more closely to the Father

or

I am wrong and the mainline calendar that up until now I have been following is right and so I was never in sin in relation to feast days and proper observance.

It's all in an aim to be closer to him.

So, lets talk dates.

The two main sources for this process are going to be removed books, Enoch and Jubilees. But as we go I will be using many other sources from both the Torah, Prophets and Besorah to illustrate or support some of the ideas.

So let me give you the calendar first and then the supporting texts. The calendar is simple,

364 days to a year, 30 days to a month with 4 extra days on the equinox and solstice days.

The New Moon days are in line with the day after the Solstice and Equinox days, breaking the year into 4 x 90 day periods of 3 months. Each period ending with the solstice of equinox.

For example, month 1 beings the day after the spring equinox. So it would be

month 1 - 30 days (New Moon Feast 1st day of the month)

month 2 - 30 days

month 3 - 31 days (Summer Solstice at end of the month)

-

month 4 - 30 days (New Moon Feast 1st day of the month)

month 5 - 30 days

month 6- 31 days (Autumn Equinox at end of the month)

-

month 7 - 30 days (New Moon Feast 1st day of the month)

month 8 - 30 days

month 9 - 31 days (Winter Solstice at end of the month)

-

month 10 - 30 days (New Moon Feast 1st day of the month)

month 11 - 30 days month

12 - 31 days (Spring Equinox at end of the month)

So 360 days and 4 extra days for the new moons. That way it is uniform, on order, and like Yahuah it does not change, it is always the same.

Okay so where is the 30/30/31 from and what is the New Moon Feast?

So the 30/30/31 comes from the book of Enoch:

In chapters 72-82 of Enoch we get the laws and regulations for the sun and moon. In chapters 72-74 Enoch explains that each month the length of the day increases or decreases in 1 part going from 9 parts light and dark (an equinox) to either 12/6 in favour of light (summer solstice) or 6/12 in favour of the dark (winter solstice). Now he tells us that it lasts 30 days to change from say 9/9 to 10/8, and 30 days to 11/7 and then 31 days to 12/6, and the same for each return and swing, always 31 days in the month relating to the equinox or solstice.

Now as for the new moons, he explains that the moon passes through different gates in the heavens as it rises and sets each season, and these are the 4 new moons, as it begins its new seasonal path. But we will look at all of this more below.

Yah's Calendar?

Okay so what is this and where did I get this from;

Lets start in Enoch

ch82 v5-9 "With respect to the progress of the sun in heaven, it enters and goes out of gate for thirty days, with the leaders of the thousand classes of the stars; with four which are added, and appertain to the four quarters of the year, which conduct them, and accompany them at four periods. Respecting these, men greatly err, and do not calculate them in the calculation of every age; for they greatly err respecting them; nor do men know accurately that they are in the calculation of the year. But indeed these are marked down forever; one in the first gate, one in the third, one in the fourth, and one in the sixth: So that the year is completed in three hundred and sixty four days. Truely has been stated, and accurately has been calculated that which is marked down; for the luminaries, the months, the fixed periods, the years, and the days, Uriy'el has explained to me, and communicated to me; whom Yahuah of all creation, on my account, commanded (according to the might of heaven, and the power which it posseses both by night and by day) to explain light to man, of the sun, moon, and stars, and of all the powers of heaven, which are turned with their respective orbs. This is the ordinance of the stars, which set in their places, in their seasons, in their periods, in their days, and in their months."

Now as for Jubilees, in chapter 6 we can read in vs34-38

"And all the children of Yashar'el will forget and will not find the path of the years, and will forget the New Moons, and seasons, and Shabbats and they will go wrong as to all the order of the years. For I know and from henceforth will I declare it unto you, and it is not of my own devising; for the cepher lies written before me, and on the heavenly tablets the division of days is ordained, lest they forget the feasts of the covenant and walk according to the feasts of the other nations after their error and after their ignorance. For there will be those who will assuredly make observations of the moon how it disturbs the seasons and comes in from year to year ten days to soon. For this reason the years will come upon them when they will disturb the order, and make an abominable day the day of testimony, and an unclean day a feast day, and they will confound all the days, the holy with the unclean, and the unclean day with the holy; for they will go wrong as to the months, and Shabbats and feasts and jubilees. For this reason I command and testify to you that you may testify to them; for after your death your children will disturb them, so that they will not make the year three hundred and sixty four days only, and for this reason they will go wrong as to the New Moons and seasons and Shabbats and feasts..."

So already I have a few things to show you,

First both Jubliees and Enoch support 364 days in a year

Enoch - "So that the year is completed in three hundred and sixty four days"

Jubilees - "or after your death your children will disturb them, so that they will not make the year three hundred and sixty four days only"

However the current Jewish and Hebrew roots calendar is lunisolar and follows a period of 354 to 355 days a year, missing the 10 days a year as Enoch points out, and as Jubliees said, "lest they forget the feasts of the covenant and walk according to the feasts of the other nations after their error and after their ignorance.
So Jubilees and Enoch seem to strongly suggest a 364 day year, and that anything else is going to lead to confusion and polluting the holy days of Yahuah and breaking Torah or sinning.

Both also talk of the 4 quarters of the year, and the 4 seasons, 30 day months, New Moons that we will talk more on soon, and that we will disturb their order.

So with regard to the New Moon Days

Jubilees speaks of Noach (Noah and the Arc) observing the 4 New moon feasts.

In chapter 6 v23 of Jubilees we read "And on the New Moon of the first month, and on the New Moon of the fourth month, and on the New Moon of the seventh month and on the New Moon of the tenth month are the days of rememberance, and the days of the seasons in the four divisions of the year. These are written and ordained as a testimony forever, Noach ordained them for himself as feasts for the generations forever."

It goes on to tell us why it mattered to Noach, in that the first was the day he was commanded to build the ark, in the 4th the depths were closed, the 7th the abysses opened, and the 10th the mountain tops were seen, and in the completed year on the 1st new moon again he left the ark.

We see this New moon observance in 1st Samuel ch20 v5 "And David said unto El-Yahunathan, Behold tomorrow is the New Moon, and I should not fail to sit with the King to eat."

And later in vs24-27 we see this lines up with the start of a month "So David hid himself in the field: and when the New Moon was come, the king sat him down to eat. And the king sat upon his seat, as at other times, even upon a seat by the wall: and Yahunathan arose, and Avner sat by Sha'ul's side, and David's place was empty. Nevertheless Sha'ul spoke not anything that day; for he thought, Something has befallen him, he is not clean; surely not clean. And it came to pass on the second day of the month, that David's place was empty..."

So again the New moon feast is the 1st day of the month.

There is also a reference in psalm 81 v3-4"Blow the shofar on the Dark New Moon today on our solemn feast. For this was a statute for Yashar'el, and a law of the Elohiym of Ya'aqov." The dark new moon would be the New moon as we move towards darkness, from the autumn equinox to the winter solstace, which is the 1st day of the 7th month, which is also Yom Terruah or the feast of trumpets... as stated in Leviticus ch23 v23-24 "And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh saying, Speak ye unto the children of Yashar'el saying, In the seventh Month on the first day of the the month, shall ye have a Shabbath, a memorial of blowing shofars, a holy assembly."

This is also mentioned in the Prophets, such as Isaiah ch1 v13-14 "No longer proclaim the New Moon and the Shabbath, and the feasts, and the festivals; they are in vain, Your New Moons and your feasts are odious to my soul..."

Now we know that part of this is to do with the sacrifices as stated in Isaiah ch1 v11, but in the earlier verses he says, Isaiah ch1 v4 "Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildooers, children that are currupters: they have forsaken Yahuah, they have provoked the Holy one of Yahsar'el to anger, they are gone away backward."

It is a sin to change Torah, to not come to the feasts at Yerushaliym at the appointed times, but messing with the feasts, changing the calendar would be a sin, and forsaking Yahuah.

After all he is a jealous El, and think about the parable of the wedding feast. They were invited to his feast and decided they were too busy to attend, sounds like potentially a link to the appointed feasts and not turning up, making an unclean day holy, and a holy day unclean.

Consider that at the time of this section of Isaiah it is in the days of "Uzziyahu, Yotham, Achaz and Yechiziqiyahu kings of Yahudah." Isaiah ch1 v1.

Now 3 of these kings for the most part walk in the ways of Yahuah, but King Achaz "did not that which was right in the sight of Yahuah Elohayu, like David his Father. but he walked in the way of the kings of Yashar'el, yea and made his son pass thorugh the fire according to the abominations of the heathen." 2nd kings ch16 v3

We can also read in 2nd Chronicles ch28 that Achaz turned to worship other elohiym (v2-4),sacrificed unto other elohiym (v4 and v23) and shut up the temple of Yahuah (v24).

It makes sense to me that Achaz and his tresspasses and closing the temple and not obeying the feasts of Yahuah would be part of Isaiah's message when the feasts are so heavily mentioned in it.

The more of the other nations ways we let in the further we drift from Yah and the truth of his Torah, Mashiach and creation.

Then we add Jeremiah ch6 v16 "Thus says Yahuah, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the ancient paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls."

Well what could be more ancient biblically than a calendar from the likes of Enoch, Noach and Mosheh?, After all this is the calendar taught to Methuselach by Enoch, who taught it to Lemek who taught it to Noach, who taught it to Shem, who, along with Noach taught Avraham according to the book of Yasher. So this Enoch idea is part of the ancient paths, and we know that Enoch "walked with Elohiym" as it is stated twice in Genesis ch5 v22 and v24. the same said for Noach in Genesis ch6 v9 "Noach was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noach walked with Elohiym." So I suggest we look at these people more closely for guidance.

Additional Scripture and thoughts

Now here are some other thoughts I have about this calendar that I want to share;

Firstly it is very simple -30 day months and 4 New moons to divide the seasons following the solstice / Equinox's.

-364 days is a multiple of 7 so the shabbats never change, always the same days, year after year.

-The two equinox's are easy to calculate and allow easy re-calibrations if we lose count or slip up.

-All the feasts are easily calculated because of the equinox's, counting 14 days from spring equinox to passover and unleavend bread, and then 7 weeks from first fruits to Shavout. And the same for the fall feasts, 1 day after autumn equinox is Yom Terruah, then on the 10th day it is Yom Kippur and the 15th Day is Sukkot start, little is needed to calculate it for those who are not daily watching the sun and stars.

It is not a burden, it is in our faces.

But lets get more scripture on this;

Genesis ch1 v3-5 "And Elohiym said let there be light: and there was light. And Elohiym saw that it was good; and Elohiym divided the light from the darkness, and he called the light Day and the darkness he called Night."

Genesis ch1 v14-18 "And Elohiym said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for appointed feats, and for days and years: And let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And Elohiym made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And Elohiym set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness."

Now, we can see that he made the sun and moon for "signs, and for appointed feats, and for days and years" And the sun rules over the day, which is the light, and the moon over the night, which is darkness. We read above in Jubilees that "they forget the feasts of the covenant and walk according to the feasts of the other nations after their error and after their ignorance. For there will be those who will assuredly make observations of the moon how it disturbs the seasons and comes in from year to year ten days too soon. For this reason the years will come upon them when they will disturb the order, and make an abominable day the day of testimony, and an unclean day a feast day, and they will confound all the days, the holy with the unclean, and the unclean day with the holy; for they will go wrong as to the months, and Shabbats and feasts and jubilees."

So this current moon based calendar is wrong, according to this. After all as Enoch points out also, it is 5 days behind by the half way point, meaning that even if it starts at the right time, before the fall feasts arrive we are 5 days off, and as a result will "make an abominable day the day of testimony, and an unclean day a feast day".

It was pointed out also that in the Gospels it often speaks of the feast of the Jews, and yet we can read in leviticus ch23 that these are the "Feasts of Yahuah" so why does John, a Jew following Ha'Mashiach not just say the feast of Yahuah, or just the passover, but rather says things like, now the passover of the Jews was at hand...

Could it be that Yahusha Ha'Mashiach was on a different calendar?

Perhaps this is why as a child he remains in Yerushaliym after his parents leave and when questioned he answers, luke ch2 v49 "How is it that ye sought me? knew ye not that I must be about my father's business?" Is he observing the fact that all men have to be present in Yerushaliym for the week of Unleavened bread which to his understanding may not have ended yet and being perfect in his Torah Keeping he remained...

Or how about when he says in Mark ch7 v9 "Full well ye reject the commandment of Eohiym, that ye may guard your own tradition." With there being no scriptural evidence for the current calendar and the additions of extar months and so on.

Or John ch7 v7-8 "The world cannot hate you; but me it hates, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. Go ye up unto the feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not fully come." Could he again be on a different calendar, a few days departed from theirs? As we know he does go up but not with them on that day.

Now I know what you are thinking, he dies on Passover, as our Passover lamb, so how can he be on a different calendar and yet line up with theirs for this feast.

Simple.

The Jewish Calendar and the Enoch Calendar line up again every 4 years, when they add in the extra month to re-align the missing 30 days. This means that the spring feast will line up with Enoch's Calendar every 4 years, but after 6 months it will slip 5 days behind and again fall out of sync. Now this is interesting, because Yahusha has a 4 year ministry, and in the 4th year their calendar lines up with his and this is when he dies. Also note that he has 3 full years of ministry, 3 being spiritual perfection, and as we will see soon, the number 4 represents the moed, being the appointed times, so he dies in the 4th year when they are in line with the true feast times.

Consider Colossians ch2 v16-17 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day, or of the New Moon, or of the Shabbaths: Which are a shadow of thing to come for the body of Mashiach." Is Paul telling them, don't let men judge you for keeping a different calendar and observing the New Moons etc because Ha'Mashiach that we follow also walked this way?

Now with regards to the sun and moon and this being a solar led calendar, I was wary of sounding Pagan by doing so, but the light he called day and the sun was created to rule over the day. We are not worshipping the sun, but observing it and using it as he intended for the purpose of knowing the days and years.

Also how many times do we hear, "walk in the light" "children of light" "light of the world" and the evil acts being of "darkness". If we are children of light shouldn't we follow the calendar that is for the light, led by the sun made to rule the light (which he called day)?

Also look at the amount of number 3's in this calendar, each section divided into 3 months of 30 days each. leaving us with 12 months, 7 feasts

3 = spiritual perfection in heaven

7 = spiritual perfection on earth

12 = governmental perfection

and 4 New moons dividing the seasons

the number 4 derives its Bible meaning from creation. On the fourth day he created the sun, the moon, and all the stars (Genesis 1:14 - 19). Their purpose was not only to give off light, but also to divide the day from the night. They were also made to be a signal that would mark off the days, years and seasons (of which there are 4).

Interestingly, the Hebrew word for 'seasons' moed , which literally translated is "appointed times" in reference to Yahuah's feasts.

And we know in Psalm 104 v19 "He made the moon for appointed feasts: the sun knows his going down." The appointed feasts is the Moediym, the appointed times, the seasons. The New moons being the season changes the solstice and equinox.

This is the earliest known allusion his appointed times. We are told that the commandments are not burdensome, but the current Jewish calendar seems to be that way, compared to this, with the feasts moving all over the place, year to year, whereas this calendar in Enoch and Jubilees is uniform, unchanging like Yahusha Ha'Mashiach "the same yesterday, today and forever" and Yahuah "I change not" "I AM that I AM"

We also know that he has blinded the eyes of Yashar'el and Yahudah as it is written in Isaiah ch6 v9-10 "And he said, go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and return and be healed."

We know that the change of the New Year from the appointed time given in Exodus being the first month, 14 days before passover, to replace Yom Terruah, now calling it Rosh Hossanah, not only breaks Torah by adding to and diminishing from it, but is changing his order of things, so can we really rely on this for the rest of the feasts?

And the rest of the world, that walks in darkness also makes error, in ignoring the shabbat and feasts entirely, adding to the 364 days outlined above with a leap year every 4 years and in the case of easter using the full moon to appoint the feast, rather than follow Yahuah's creation, and many other pagan practices that they support.

We must be cautious however to not worship creation like the pagans on the New Moon days, but to worship the creator.

So what would this mean for us to change from the current model to this one?

As for this year of 2022, every feast moves approximately a week earlier, but after that, year on year it will mean an almost perfectly consistent feast period. Passover, Unleavened Bread and Shavout always being in April/May, and Trumpets, Attonement and Tabernacles always running from late September to mid October by the worlds calendar.

There is so much more to say on this but I ask you to study it yourself and see.

And as for you who don't consider Enoch scripture I would like to pint out that Paul quotes from the book of Enoch a lot, Peter quotes it in 2nd Peter, Jude references ad quotes Enoch 3 times in his tiny Epistle, and it is the most referenced or quoted book in the bible, with over 100 references or direct quotes from Enoch in the New Testament alone. So, if the New Testament writers view it as scripture, and we read in second Timothy ch3 v16 All scripture is given by the Ruach Elohiym, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of Elohiym may be perfect, thoughly furnished unto all good works."

All scripture is profitable for instruction and reproof. Including Enoch.

Finally I would like to point out that if we are going to believe that every word in the bible is true, then we should be seeking to follow the calendar given in scripture, and the only one every presented is the calendar in the book of Enoch.

Read Enoch, read the first 7 chapters of Jubilees, consider the New Moons, the deception of so many other biblical truths and ask yourself, is this right?

We are still searching too, but this answer just came to us, piecing together so many questions into a very easy, very simple, very creation based, Yah centred, system that anyone could keep track of.

Pray on it and I hope we all get the answer that the Father wants, whatever that may be...

The Proposed Calendar

1st Month begins the day after the spring Equinox

Month 1 = 30 days (On day 1 we have the first New Moon Feast of the year and day 14 at evening is Passover, followed by the week of Unleavened Bread and first fruits)

Month 2 = 30 days

Month 3 - 31 days (Shavout falls here being 7 weeks after the shabbat in unleavened bread) (and 31st day is the summer solstice)

-

Month 4 - 30 days (with day 1 of this month being the second New Moon Feast)

Month 5 - 30 days

Month 6 -  31 days (31st day being the autumn equinox)

-

Month 7 - 30 days (1st day of this month is Yom Terruah and the 3rd New Moon Feast, 10th day is Attonement (Yom kippur) and 15th day of this month starts the 8 day festival of Sukkot)

Month 8 - 30 days

Month 9 - 31 days (31st day being the Winter Solstice)

-

Month 10 - 30 days (1st day of this mointh being the 4th New Moon Feast)

Month 11 - 30 days

Month 12 - 31 days (31st day being the Spring Equinox)

thus being 364 days in total

The spring Equinox is always around the 20-21st of what the World calls March, meaning that Passover would always be around the 4th or 5th of April, Shavout would always be late May, And the fall feasts would run from late september to early october.

With the days beginning at evening as it says in Genesis ch1 "evening and morning the first day."

and Shabbat still being on what the world calls friday evening to saturday evening.
